Hedgerows and fences are heavy with honeysuckle right now - and its scent is strongest at night. A bedside vase is where it belongs, with wisps of flowering grasses and other delicate natives.

Rain on the ride
A towpath is a
peaceful way to go. Elevated on a
bike, there are glimpses into gardens backing onto the river, pot holes that
take you away from the city, and smells of clean sportswear as runners woosh
by.
A man sat at a bench
reading the paper under an umbrella; further along a lady in her dressing gown wheeling a suitcase; but, most absurd of all, the sight of a sprinkler on.
Touchingly a happy man
was belting out ‘Mary’s Prayer’ at the entrance of an underground
car park, while the River Café treated lucky Monday night diners to vegetables
grown in their garden.
